Description:

NOTE: This is a 2 part course. You must register for Segment 2 separately. Determine which segment(s) and which semester(s) that the student needs to register for.

This course is designed to enable students to understand their present connections to past civilizations and to better prepare them for their future as participating members of a global community. Students will explore and apply information pertaining to history, geography, economics, political processes, religion, ethics, diverse cultures, and humanities.

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

  • Understand historical and chronological perspective.
  • Gain a sense of connection between the belief systems, political systems, religion, language, and other cultural aspects of various civilizations over times and space.
  • Develop an awareness, appreciation and sensitivity regarding Eastern and Western civilizations.
