Technical Requirements
Moodle is a Web-based tool, so basically what you will need to access your Moodle course is a computer capable of connecting to the Internet, and capable of running a supported Web browser (listed below).
- Note that computers at the minimum system requirements will access the course much slower than newer, faster computers. Also, older machines may have difficulty displaying online multimedia and video. Contact your instructor if you have questions.
- Check with your instructor or course syllabus for other hardware, software, or materials necessary for your course.
Web Browser
- Moodle works best with Firefox
- Moodle works, but not as well,on Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0
- The browser should have JAVA and Javascript enabled
- Your web browse should have these plug-ins: Macromedia Shockwave, Macromedia Flash, RealPlayer, QuickTime, Windows MediaPlayer, Adobe Acrobat Reader. These plug-ins may be used by your courses.
- A high-speed internet connection recommended

- Minimum resolution: 800x600

- CD-ROM or DVD drive
- High bandwidth modem (cable, DSL, satellite)
- Printer
Windows XP
- Pentium 3 or higher / 256 MB memory / 1 GB free disk space
- Sound card and speakers
- Firefox browser
Mac® OS 10.x
- at least MAC OS X (older systems do not run Firefox browser)
- 1 GB of available hard disk space
